DISABILITY FIRST would like to reassure you that we are keeping a close eye on the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus in regards to how we deliver our services and are regularly reviewing DWP, Government, and NHS guidelines. Staff will be working from home as appropriate and restricting contact to that which is strictly necessary.
The health and wellbeing of the people we support, our staff team, volunteers and trustees is paramount. We have procedures established to minimise risk and are committed to continuing to help people access the support they need at this difficult time and achieve the outcomes that they need. However, the ways in which we do this may look slightly different, but we intend to continue to work, whilst our services are needed.
In light of this, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend the following services and support provision from Monday 23rd March 2020 until further notice:
· Office appointments for welfare benefit advice, form completion, appeal forms and representation – main office Blackpool
IT training – various venues across the Fylde Coast
Asbestos Support Group – Barrow
Disability Partnership – Blackpool, Wyre & Fylde
Currently all welfare benefit assessments have been suspended and we are waiting to hear when they may resume
The helpline will be available to the public, Monday to Friday 10am till 4pm, providing basic advice and guidance only.
